Worcester 2017 Show Secretary’s Report

By Louise Williams

Another glorious weekend with the weather arriving as ordered – maybe a little too hot but a few ice creams certainly helped!!

Firstly I would like to thank our club members (and several of their other halves) for all their efforts and hard work before, during and after the shows. We are only a small club so it takes an exceptional effort to get the show up and running.

As usual the annual report begins with a huge thank you:

Thanks to all of the members and their families who turned out to help on the day, especially those who were on the field at 7.00 to assemble the rings and make sure everything was in order. Special mention goes to Kirsten, Joan and Alan who had done it all the day before at Kilmarnock.

This was our first attempt at running Lichfield show and luckily everything went well and we had no disasters! Ok, the weather could have been a little better on Sunday…we will remember to get the sun dance started earlier next year! ?The atmosphere around the show was lovely both days and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, which is what it’s all about!

CHESVALE DOG TRAINING CLUB
OPEN SHOW SUNDAY 27th AUGUST 2017

Clare and I just love organising this show!!!!

The weather fairies were really kind to us, in fact a little too kind as it got quite warm in the afternoon, warm enough to reduce some of the stay times. Thanks to our judges Sue Robinson, Carey Holah, Rita Holland, Kim Ford and not forgetting Chris Milner who stood in for Enid Diploock after she broke her ankle. Also thanks to their ring stewards, scoreboarders and all the stay stewards who volunteered during the morning under the watchful eye of Jim Nokes.

Changes to deter hackers

The ObUK website has been hit now a few times by hackers, and although peoples passwords are not openly being displayed on the site, a determined hacker could get hold of them.

It’s been suggested to me that I should hold the passwords as a hashed character string (via an algorithm), and hence the site (and me) would not know your password.

This means that “the hacker” could not retrieve the password from the site.
